English fusee skeleton clock with platform escapement, polished A frame plates with 4 bold baluster form pillars, vertically mounted silvered platform with duplex escapement marked "Philcox 277 Patent", the brass balance with blued steel spring, silvered Roman numeral dial with seconds at 12:00, blued steel hands, mounted on a black painted velvet covered base, and covered by a conforming glass dome, c1850
CONDITION:
Movement plates good, in old lacquer, with minor scratches, movement needs cleaning, balance broken from hub and reattached with solder, hairspring needs correction, dial with scratching and darkened in some areas, hands replaced, base probably replaced, dome dirty, cracked Ht 12 1/2"
